ISLAMABAD: A meeting between Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is underway after a delay of half an hour here on Wednesday.
Earlier, in a dinner hosted by chief justice in the honour of Justice Khalil Ramday, Prime Minister told the media that nation would hear a good news today.
According to sources, 40 judges are likely to be appointed on immediate basis on the vacant posts of 72 judges in higher judiciary in the first phase whereas cancellation of notification of appointment of two judges in Lahore High Court is also expected.
