Lawyer confines himself till judges’ reinstatement.

LAHORE: In a unique protest, Azhar Hussain Shah Advocate, Chairman Jio Lawyers Forum has confined himself in his Multan road office to press government for reinstatement of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and other lawyers.He is under going a self-imposed solidarity confinement and intends to remain under this self-imposed detention till the restoration of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and other judges and lawyers. His office is situated at 32 Multan Road, Chauburji Lahore where in one of the rooms of his office he is confined in protest. It is pertinent to mention here that Azhar Hussain Shah along with seven other lawyers in April 2007 walked on foot a long distance to show solidarity with Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. He is visited by a number of lawyers who go there to express their support to him.Lawyers to boycott courts on Friday: The lawyers will boycott the proceedings of courts on Friday, said a press release. This decision was taken in a general house meeting of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA). The lawyers will wear black armbands and take out a protest rally for the reinstatement of deposed judges who did not take oath under the PCO. In this regard, a general house meeting of the LHCBA will also be held in the Kiyani Hall of the LHC on Friday. Meanwhile, Chairman Tehreek-i-Insaaf and APDM Quaid Imran Khan will address a lawyers’ gathering at a general house meeting of the Lahore Bar Association on Friday (Feb 29) before taking out a rally in connection with their ongoing movement for the restoration of the deposed judges and the Constitution. According to a press release issued here Wednesday, the LBA has decided to take out its weekly protest rally on Friday (Feb 29) instead of Thursday, owing to the announcement of a local holiday here in connection with the 964th Urs celebration of Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh Ali Hajvari.The release further read that the LBA will hold its general house meeting at Aiwan-e-Adl bar room at 10:30am, to be addressed by the PTI chief. LBA President Manzoor Qadir will lead the rally. Lawyers have vowed to continue their struggle till restoration of all deposed judges including Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, the Constitution and an independent judiciary.
