Lawyers observe hunger strike,boycott of courts against judges’ dismissal.

LAHORE, Nov 3 (APP): Lawyers in the provincial capital observed hunger strike and boycotted courts to protest against the dismissal of the deposed judges, here on Monday.
Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and District Bar Association observed full day strike following the decision of National Lawyers Coordination Council and no one appeared before courts.

Meanwhile, LHCBA and Save the Judiciary Committee also set up hunger strike camps in the compound of LHCBA in which Abdul Rashid Qureshi,Imtiaz Rashid alongwith a number of their colleagues expressed solidarity with the deposed judges.

The protesters chanted slogans in favour of the deposed judges,called for independent judiciary and condemned Pervez Musharraf for blatant violations of the Constitution.

The protest camps were decorated with the portraits of deposed Chief Justice,Iftikhar Muhammad and Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan.

The lawyers demanded of the government to immediately restore all the deposed judges, including Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary.
