LAHORE: Advocate Tariq Aziz Malik on Wednesday moved a petition in the Lahore High Court challenging the alleged detention of deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry along with his family. He moved the petition under Article 199 of the constitution in which he had made the federal government and three federal secretaries – interior, establishment and the law respondents. He said the deposed CJP had been detained without any legal justification and his (CJP)’s children were not allowed to go to their education institutes. He said it was the violation of Articles 2-A, 4, 8, 9, 11, 12 and 25 of the constitution. He requested to issue directions for the release of the deposed CJP and his family.
