Office-bearers of the Pakistan Bar Council, the Sindh Bar Council and the Karachi Bar Association including Zia Ahmed Awan advocate, Iftikhar Qaimkhani, Muhammad Aqil, Abdul Hameed Yousufi, Mehmood-ul-Hassan and Khalid Munawar announced this decision at a joint press conference on Tuesday.<br \/>They said that March 9 is remembered as the day when a dictator tried to curb the independence of judiciary and lawyers across the country will observe it as a black day. &#8220;Keeping the interest of the people in mind, court proceedings will not be boycotted,&#8221; they said. Lawyers will wear black armbands and hoist black flags at bar offices across Sindh. <br \/>Denouncing Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Asma Jahangir&#8217;s remarks about the apex court judges, they said that the SCBA president has lost the mandate of the lawyers due to her controversial statements.
