Pakistani Supreme Court Chief Justice Visits Fordham Law<\/p>\n

Speaker: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry of Pakistan
Affiliation: Chief Justice of Pakistan Supreme Court Chief Justice Chaudhry was appointed to Pakistan’s Supreme Court by President Musharraf in 2005. Two years later, his position was suspended by President Musharraf, and Chaudhry was placed under house arrest, where he remained until March of this year.<\/p>\n
Chief Justice Chaudhry will be speaking about the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary. He will be accompanied by two prominent Pakistani lawyers, Athar Minallah and Aitzaz Ahsan, who are leading the campaign to restore Chaudhry to his position as Chief Justice.
