Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed the Federal Investigation Agency to arrest Khurram Rasool, ex media coordinator of Primr Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
“We know FIA chief doesn’t comply with court orders but we have granted very much time to him,” Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry remarked as the court resumed hearing into a fraud case against Khurram Rasool.
The CJ directed the FIA to arrest Rasool till January 24.
Rashid A. Rizvi, counsel for applicant Pervez Hassan, told the court that the accused had not been arrested despite the laps of 11 months while a man was arrested from Malaysia within three days because President Zardari wanted him to be arrested.
The CJ said action would be taken against the FIA chief, if tKurram Rasool was not arrested within the stipulated time.
The applicant had accused Rasool of taking kickback in LPG contract.
